2 DAYS FLOWERS @ WEST COAST & NAMAQUALAND

Every year after the Winter rains have fallen, the dry barren landscape changes in a tapestry of colors you will never forget. The awakening of Spring is exciting and exuberant and makes Namaqualand Spring flowers World famous

A 2 Day excursion to Namaqualand and the West Coast during the flower season. During this trip we will visit the most amazing places where we can see the Spring flowers bloom. 

After passing Velddrif - famous for it's sun-dried fish (marine billtong), we will visit De Postberg in West Coast Nature Reserve. This part of the reserve is only open for public during the flower season (August & September).

Itinerary

Day 1

Via Riebeeck Kasteel to Clanwilliam

We leave early in the Helderberg region and will make our first stop in Riebeeck Kasteel. From there we drive further north to Namaqualand. and will pass the Piekenierskloofpass to make our first stop in Citrusdal. We continue to Clanwilliam for several stops and via Biedouw Valley we will end the day in Van Rhynsdorp where we will stay for the night.

Day 2

West Coast

Via Velddrif and Bokkomlaan we drive to the West Coast Nature Reserve where we will visit the Postberg. The Postberg is only 2 months per year open for public - only August and September during the flower season. Via Bloubergstrand we will drive back to De Helderberg region.
